Our beginning

Why Tech Tank SKN started and where we're headed

About Tech Tank SKN Tech Tank SKN is a national youth technology and innovation platform created to discover, develop, and showcase the next generation of young innovators, founders, inventors, and problem-solvers in St. Kitts and Nevis. We believe that young people in our Federation are filled with bold ideas — ideas that can improve schools, communities, businesses, government services, agriculture, health care, energy, tourism, finance, and everyday life. Tech Tank SKN was created to give those ideas a serious platform. The first phase of Tech Tank SKN is the Youth Technology & Innovation Competition, a filmed showcase where persons ages 14–18 can present their ideas before a panel of judges. Participants do not need a finished product, a company, or technical expertise. They only need an idea, the courage to present it, and the willingness to learn. The competition is designed to help young people pitch their concepts, receive mentorship, refine their ideas, gain public exposure, and compete for meaningful prizes and recognition. Through this process, Tech Tank SKN aims to build confidence, encourage entrepreneurship, and create national excitement around youth innovation. But Tech Tank SKN is bigger than a competition. Our long-term vision is to build a true innovation pipeline for St. Kitts and Nevis, beginning with the competition and expanding into a yearly Tech Tank incubator campus where selected young innovators can receive hands-on training in product development, business modeling, pitching, technology, customer discovery, and real-world problem-solving. Over time, Tech Tank SKN will evolve into Tech Tank Global, a Caribbean-born innovation platform designed to expand across the OECS and the wider Caribbean. The goal is to help create a new generation of Caribbean founders who can build products, companies, systems, and solutions from right here in the region. We believe the future of the Caribbean cannot depend only on hospitality, tourism, and traditional industries. Our young people must also be empowered to create technology, intellectual property, digital businesses, and innovation-driven companies. Tech Tank SKN exists to help make that future possible. Pitch. Innovate. Compete. Build..
